According to a press statement issued by Jallow’s Office, the handing over ceremony took place in Arusha, Tanzania, a step that marked the completion of a week-long official mission of senior Rwandan prosecutors to ICTR, led by Hitiyaremye.
The Prosecutor handed over materials supporting the indictment against the suspect and other relevant evidence contained in his case file.
According to the Indictment, Ntaganzwa, former mayor of Nyakizu commune, Butare prefecture in South Rwanda, is charged with genocide; direct and public incitement to commit genocide; and extermination, murder, and rape as crimes against humanity.
This is the fourth time Jallow handed over such files to the Rwandan government. Since January 16, 2012, he has done the same for the files involving Pastor Jean Uwinkindi, currently in Rwanda waiting trial and fugitives, Fulgence Kayishema and Charles Sikubwabo.
