Bensouda submits revised copy: ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda on Wednesday submitted additional evidence against former Ivorian president Laurent Gbagbo, who is suspected of crimes against humanity. In a decision of June 3, 2013, the pre-trial chamber had requested her to do this, to enable the judges to decide if he should be tried or not.

Juvénal Habyarimana’s widow goes to European Court: The widow of Rwandan ex-president Juvénal Habyarimana, who is suspected of involvement in the 1994 genocide, has filed a case at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) over France’s refusal to grant her a residence permit. According to AFP, Agathe Habyarimana filed the case in December. She has been living in France since 1998.

Ruto excused from some trial hearings: Hearings resumed Thursday in the joint trial of Kenyan Deputy President William Ruto and journalist Joshua Sang. Both men are accused of crimes against humanity committed during violence in their country that followed elections in late 2007. The Prosecutor brought a ninth witness in the case, who testified mostly behind closed doors. The previous day, the Court authorized Ruto to be absent from certain trial hearings.
